Bremer Bay has enduring connections to the history that has shaped the Great Southern. Lightly touched by the indigenous people of the Noongar the early European Settlers broke in new farming districts and endured harsh conditions remote from civilisation. The pioneering Wellstead family remain active in the region and provide living windows to the history of the region through the engaging Wellstead Museum and the historic Quaalup Homestead. Closer to town the original Old Telegraph Station has been carefully restored and although currently closed to the public we hope this will change to once again offer a dose of colonial history.
A progressive and vibrant local community underpins the bright future of this isolated coastal outpost whilst celebrating the remarkable achievements of the past.
