Great news to hear that the magnificent Fitzgerald River National Park, known locally as just “the Fitz” has been added to National Heritage List.

To quote the announcement “Fitzgerald River National Park was included in the National Heritage List for its outstanding diversity of native plant species, including many plants which are unique to the local area.”

Having enjoyed global recognition as a UNESCO Unique Biosphere since 1978 we thinks it’s great that the folks in Canberra have finally caught up. Mind you a few of the locals might be livid that their beautiful piece of paradise will now be common knowledge!

Take a wander to our Flora and Fauna page to find out more about the many plants and animals you can see in the local district surrounding Bremer Bay.
